Sunday School

The Sunday school follows the Bible’s admonition to train up a child in the way he should go.  Teachers seek to develop a foundation of biblical teaching that will never be forgotten.
Graded classes from “Kindergarten” to “Adult Bible Class” (11 in total) are provided for members and visitors of all ages.  Calvary Temple Sunday School has competent, Holy Ghost filled teachers, who teach and believe that the Bible is the true Word of God. 

The faculty of the Sunday school totals 48 staff.  The faculty consists of teachers, teaching assistants, drivers, conductors, administrators and the Sunday school board. 

The Sunday school operates a bus ministry of four minibuses that collects children each Sunday morning and return them home when Sunday school has finished.

The Sunday school undertakes an annual trip and talent competition for all students to participate in. Annual festivals e.g. Easter and Christmas are special occasions where all classes play a part.

Sunday school classes meet on Sunday mornings from 10:45 – 12noon with an average attendance of 200 students.

Children's Church:

• Children’s Church ministry is opened to children ages 3 – 16 years of age.  A relaxed environment provides fun activities to enhance children’s knowledge of the Bible.

• This is a time to minister the Word of God to the smallest members of Calvary through various age-appropriate teaching methods such as object lessons, skits, puppet skits, and praise and worship.

• The Children’s Church meets Sundays (after Sunday school) at 12noon.  The children who regularly attend are members of the Children’s Church Choir.

Puppet Ministry:

• Puppets grab and keep children's attention. As a result, the puppet ministry is a very effective learning tool and plays a big part in the Sunday school ministry.

• The puppet ministry performs skits, songs and short stories to audiences of all ages.   The message communicated to children and adults alike reinforces principles found in the word of God.

• The cast consists of six hand puppets, which represent a diverse ethnic and cultural mix.  Plans to expand the cast and make the ministry mobile are underway. Contact puppetministry@ctupc.org.uk for bookings.
