Others

Executive Board & Church Trustees
The Executive Board and Trustees (of which the pastor is the chairperson) oversee the spiritual, financial and business affairs of Calvary Temple.  They are responsible for all legal obligations for the church and ensure that all requirements regarding administration, insurance, and other financial matters are met.

Finance
The controlling or directing of church finances is of paramount concern to the pastor, trustees and members. The Finance Committee manages the assets, payment of invoices, budgeting, and banking whilst monitoring how local church funds are utilised for best value.

Administration
The Administration Committee supports the pastor by managing the post & correspondence, statistics, publications, database management, records, and stationery.  The smooth processing of these activities ensures great efficiency of Calvary Temple’s main office. 

Works & Caretaking
The goal of this ministry is to keep the House of God looking beautiful.  The Works Committee monitors the upkeep of the internal and external church facility.  When required they obtain and review estimates and initiate building repairs.  The caretaking team ensures that for each service the church building is cleaned, opened and closed and secured.

Choir
During each Sunday service, the choir ministers and leads the congregation into praise and worship.  The ministering choirs consist of Adult, Conquerors, Male Voice and Children’s Church.  The Mass choir (which comprises all choirs) ministers on special occasions.

Music
The Music Ministry ministers in music during worship services and special activities at Calvary Temple.  The music ministry also plays a vital role in the outreach and evangelism ministry.

Audiovisual
This multi-media ministry includes sound, computer and television. The ministry is active in every service.  This ministry is responsible for all audio recordings and the operation and functioning of the public address system, as well as the projection of multimedia praise and worship software. The ministry provides audio and video recordings for sale after services.

Nursing
The Nursing Ministry attends to the needs of those who require medical attention while visiting Calvary Temple.  This ministry is made up of qualified personnel who work in the secular medical arena and have pledged their time and talents for the Lord. 

Motto: God is the healer the nurse is the dealer!

Senior Citizens
This ministry is specifically designed to minister to the senior citizens of Calvary Temple.  This includes those who are able bodied and those unable to attend church services (shut-ins).  Nurses and Deacons visit the elderly and assist in anyway they can.

Bereavement & Care
This ministry is designed to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of the members who have experienced the loss of a loved one.  Group sessions are organised by the Nursing Ministry periodically.

Deacons
The deacons assist the pastor in ministry by preparing candidates for water baptism, visiting the sick and shut in, caring for the widowed, benevolence, overseeing the care at the altar, serving communion, and addressing spiritual needs of the Body of Christ through prayer, preaching and bible study.

Ushers
The ushers are charged to serve people in any way they can.  They assist with seating visitors and members, helping the elderly, keeping track of safety issues, receiving the tithes and offerings and maintaining order during services.

Hostess
This ministry fulfills the vital service of greeting, directing, escorting and providing information to the members and guests at each worship service, as they enter the Sanctuary.  The hostesses record the data of guest and provide them with a welcome packet, which includes information on the church, and the ministries and activities at Calvary Temple.

Public Relations
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5 v 20)

‘Ambassadors for Christ’ is the mission statement for the PR department. The PR team supports all aspects of the local church by providing comprehensive internal and external communications services and support.

The PR department is responsible for:

• Coordinating internal communications, this includes weekly church announcements covering key notices, membership information and prayer request items
• External promotion and marketing of church events, this includes liaising with local and specialist media, whether press, radio or Christian television.
• Editing and producing our church magazine and contributing regular ministry news and articles to the national magazine ‘Pentecostal Truth’

To this end the PR department is proud to work closely with all ministries and departments and the great congregation at Calvary Temple.

SWAT - Spiritual Warfare And Tactics - Prayer Group
Jesus said, “My house is the house of prayer” Lu 19:46.

The purpose of this ministry is to intercede through established weekly prayer sessions.  The SWAT team prays earnestly for the Pastor, ministers, members, the sick and bereaved, the Body of Christ, the lost, the nations and governments.

SAW – Single And Whole – Singles Ministry
This ministry is geared towards the single adults.  This includes the unmarried, single parents, widowed and divorced.  The ministry meets on a monthly basis for activities and meetings and enjoys a time of fun, fellowship, food, and ministry.  The focus is to educate and guide the singles to develop and enhance their personal relationship with God.

MOT – Marriage On Track – Marriage Ministry
The ministry exists to enhance the attributes that constitute a healthy marriage.  Workshops are arranged periodically thought the year.

PAC – Pastor’s Aid Committee
This committee assists the pastor by providing hospitality to Calvary Temple’s guests - both local and overseas.  The committee is responsible for the welfare, comfort and security of all visiting preachers, dignitaries and VIP’s.
